What could cause my steering wheel to be messed up.. sense you can't see it in person ill try to explain exactly whats wrong..

okay.. my steering wheel when its straight my car goes to the right, when I cock my steering wheel to the side it drives straight.. there is no pull to the left or right whatsoever just the steering wheel isn't straight like it should be.

It's only off by maybe a half an inch.. any ideas? upper or lower control arm? spindle? axle? what could cause this.

Thanks guys.

Nope.. that's why I think I bent a spindle or lower control arm or something? just trying to get ideas so I know where to start with it.

Probably just knocked it out of alignment.

Don't think it would be anything real big though? just alignment?

how bad was this accident? how fast were you going, how hard did you hit, what did you hit?

you should prolly go get it realligned and that should fix the problem tho.

Ten miles an hour and I barely touched a light pole.. well enough to crush the fender and destroy a corner light.. how could I trouble shoot this problem before I get the alignment checked? because something could have gotten bent or something? I'm just trying to repair this cheap as possible..

After deconstructing my car I found it is the upper control arm.. simple enough.. replace it, problem solved.

I will when I get the control arm.. It wasn't that bad at all.. but nonetheless it has to be replaced bc the damage done is not fixable.. but in a few days when I get it I will deff take a pic.

Yeah i want to see a side by side picture of the new one beside the old one, just to see how bent it is. It would just be interesting.

still should get it realigned, the upper control arm is a main part of the suspension and i've always been told that after any changes in the suspension you should get an alignment.

theoretically you shouldnt have to get an alignment because there is no adjustability within the upper control arm. You just bolt it in, there is nothing to adjust on the uppercontrol arm. However that is assuming the new control arm is perfectly identical to the old one which is probably not likely, some of the geometry will probably be off ever so slightly just because it is a replacement part, which is enough to throw off the alignment a bit. Even if it was all the same you should still get an alignment because the crash probably threw it off a little too.

as you can see the stock control arm has no adjustablity everything bolts in and doesnt change.

but with this aftermarket adjustable control arm you are able to adjust the position of the ball joint, this is usually used with lowered cars to relieve the negative camber.

The upper control arm has a ball joint.. right at the point the "top of the A" that's where the ball joint goes.. okay.. that part is best down and the ball joint if partially sticking out. that is the only problem with my suspension bc I have fully deconstructed my front driver side suspension.. If it was not like that before I hit the pole.. and is like that after.. then put 2 and 2 together.
